My name is Babs and I am one of the smallest dogs at Speranza. I am an approximately 5-6 year-old female pit bull mix. I am friendly with other dogs, and would do best in a home with a canine sibling.  I am a sweet, playful and timid girl who would prefer a quiet home with no small children. I have been at Speranza since the fall of 2013. I would love to find a family of my own!

I was a feral dog running with a pack down south until I wandered into a live trap one night and was taken to a local high kill shelter.  Unfortunately, because I was so scared of my new surroundings, I was timestamped to die. Thankfully, Janine saw a picture of me posted by a shelter volunteer and she committed to saving me! I’ve been playing with my Speranza pals ever since.

Check out my report card!

I need a patient family to help me transition to life in a home.  I don’t know any commands at this point, but I am very food motivated.  I don’t have a mean bone in my body, but I am scared of noises and new experiences.  I am small and manageable, but I need a family to provide me with structure, confidence and time.  I need to be in a home with other dogs to help me adjust, as well. I can climb fences, so a 6 foot tall privacy fence is required to prevent me from exploring.
