My name is Barbie. I am an approximately 2 year old female pit bull mix. I am a big, beautiful blonde and I am full of energy. Tug-o-war is my favorite game ever, but I also like to play fetch. I am just learning to play with other dogs, so I would do best in a home with no other dogs or submissive dogs and no cats. I am very strong and still learning to be calm, so I shouldn’t be in a home with children under 8.
WANT TO KNOW MY RESCUE STORY?
A kind lady rescued me from a really bad living situation, but I quickly proved to be more than she could handle. I was completely unsocialized, had absolutely no training and was starving for attention. She called Speranza to see if Janine could help, and that same day I was in Janine’s car heading to the Speranza farm. I got a solid week of flea treatments to get rid of all the fleas covering my body and some time to decompress. Life has been good ever since.

Truth be told, I need some work in the obedience department and an experienced handler. I take treats nicely and am food motivated. I need a home where I will be able to run and play a lot because I need to get all this energy out before I will be able to focus on training. I really like going for walks, but I need to learn how to walk at an acceptable pace. I also have a tendency to leash bite when I get over stimulated.
