What is Pumpkinfest?
Speranza Animal Rescue’s Pumpkinfest is a fall themed, family festival on the Speranza farm. It is the single biggest fundraising event we do all year and it just keeps getting better every year. This year we will, once again, decorate the farm for fall, prepare for the crowd, have lots of fun activities prepared for everyone in the family and invite all of our supporters to join us on Saturday October 6th (with a rain date of October 13th) from noon to 5 PM.
Attendees will be able to make scarecrows, buy pumpkins and mums, play lots of children’s games and win prizes, get their faces painted, meet adoptable dogs, see all of the farm animals, learn about the rescue, shop all of the Speranza merchandise, drop off donations, participate in dozens of raffles, eat delicious food including homemade soups, shop our huge bake sale, meet Libre, take a hay ride….
There is something for everyone to do and because of our amazing sponsors, 100% of the money you spend at Pumpkinfest (excluding vendor sales) goes directly towards supporting the mission of saving the most abused and neglected animals. We need a lot of help to pull off this event. We need more than 100 volunteers to help run all of the events listed above, vendors to come represent their businesses, sponsors to help us raise our goal of $25,000, raffle items to be donated and bakers to help us have a huge variety of baked goods available for sale at our bake sale. There is more information about how you can help with each of these and applications for each below.

Becoming a Vendor at Pumpkinfest
We would like to have as many vendors as possible at Pumpkinfest. We will offer 10 x 15 feet vendor spaces for $50 for the day or $85 for two spaces. We have gotten very positive feedback from vendors in the past and expect more than 1,000 to attend Pumpkinfest this year. We are making a roster of vendors for the event date of October 6th and the rain date of October 13th. Please fill out an application if you are available on both or either date. We will keep an updated list of the confirmed vendors below.
We will not have duplicate vendors (i.e. we won’t allow more than one LuLaRoe consultant or more than one Pampered Chef consultant) and spaces will be assigned based on a first-come first-serve basis. Vendors will be located throughout the farm, but in high traffic areas. Most of the vendors will be in the large field, where almost all of the activities will take place. Vendors will need to bring their own tents, tables and chairs. Electricity is not available. Pets are not permitted, even if they will be staying at the vendor booth.
The event is from noon to 5PM and is being held at Speranza Animal Rescue (directions will be sent at a later date). You are welcome to come and set up as early as 10:00 AM. We ask that you are set up and ready to go by noon, and that your vehicles have been moved to the parking area by 11:30. We would prefer that vendors stay until 5:00 PM, but we understand if you need to leave early. However, you will not be able to drive your vehicle to your set up if you leave early.

Once your application is approved, you will be required to send a check with your $50 payment to reserve your spot That check will not be cashed until we know if we will need to use the rain date. This way if you send payment for the 6th , you cannot attend on the 13th, and then we need to use the rain date, we will destroy your check.
Our First Ever
Corn Hole Tournament
We are very excited to be hosting our first ever Corn Hole Tournament at Pumpkinfest this year. Our goal is to have 16 teams (2 people per team) participate in a single elimination tournament for prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place. Prizes will be announced soon. Registration will be $20 per team in advance and $25 per team, if there are still spots available on the day of the tournament (Oct 6th, rain date Oct 13th) and all money raised through registration fees will go directly towards our veterinary bills. Team check in is at 12:30, rules will be reviewed at 12:50 and the tournament will start at 1:00 PM. Register now to confirm your spot in the tournament! In the event of inclement weather on the 6th, the tournament and Pumpkinfest will be moved to the 13th.

Donating Baked Goods for the Bake Sale
One of the big money makers at Pumpkinfest is the bake sale. We have a huge selection of everything yummy that you can imagine. Pumpkin rolls, home made caramel sauce, pies, cakes, cookies, candies and more! We rely on our supporters to help us bake sweets for the bake sale so that we can raise as much money as possible. We will donate any of the left-over snacks to local Emergency Responders. All items donated will be tax deductible and we will provide receipts for all donations.
If you are interested in donating baked goods to the bake sale, please fill out the signup form below. To try and make the day of easy as possible we have a few requests and helpful hints:
Please don’t donate the baked goods in containers that you want back.
All baked goods should be packaged for sale when brought to Speranza.
A few cookies in a baggie, 2 cupcakes in a to go container, slices of pumpkin roll wrapped in clear wrap.
A dozen cup cakes in a pan don’t sell well, because they don’t transport well….
Please clearly label all baked goods and identify any nuts or other allergens
We do need a variety of gluten free snacks
Do not price the items, we will do that so the items are all priced similarly
It has been warm the last few years, so icings have gotten runny… consider the weather.
We will have ice trays in which we can set some of the baked goods to keep them cool, but will not be able to fit everything on them…

Donating Raffle Items
One of the most fun activities at Pumpkinfest for the adults is our huge raffle tent. We have had close to 100 items to raffle off in the past. Not only is it a lot of fun, but it is a great fundraiser, as well. We try to get donations of gift certificates for restaurants, experiences and activities , themed baskets, crafts, unique items… We try to have a lot of variety and items with a value of $40 or more. We have had businesses and individuals donate raffle items. If a business donates, we are happy to sit business cards or brochures out with the items. All items donated will be tax deductible and we will provide receipts for all donations.
We would like to have all raffle items in hand by October 1st. Items can be dropped off at Speranza any day of the week from 8 AM - 2 PM or 5:30 - 7:30 PM. If you cannot get your raffle items to the rescue, let us know on the form below and we will arrange for a volunteer to pick it up.
